WALL-E or Wanted?
I’m torn. I’m one of those peoples that can only see one film at a time…and I’m also one of those peoples who won’t waste $20 at the movies in one day. I like Pixar. I like Angelina. I’m hearing good things from both camps. At least The Dark Knight will stand alone at the box office when it comes out. Sweeeeeet.
I’m voting Republican.
The video says it all.
Enjoy.
Shit! Piss! Fuck! Cunt! Cocksucker! Motherfucker! Tits!
George Carlin is dead. This man paved the way for what comedy is today, an art that not only expresses and entertains the masses, but pushes limits and sets new boundaries. Carlin had been suffering from heart failure for years and went into the hospital complaining of chest pains. He died later that evening. I’d like to say that he’s smiling at us from heaven…or hell, but he was never a fan of that phrase. This man will be missed.
BANNED
Martha Stewart, she needs no introduction, has been banned from Britain. The Daily Telegraph reported that Stewart was denied permission to enter the counrty because of her recent conviction and incarceration. Her people confirmed the reports, but gave no further explanation as to why it happened. A Home Office spokeswoman refused to comment on the situation, but did add, “We continue to oppose the entry to the U.K. of individuals where we believe their presence in the United Kingdom is not conducive to the public good or where they have been found guilty of serious criminal offenses abroad.” What in the hell are they expecting her to do? Blow up Parliment??? We predict she will be allowed entry, but this is ridiculous.
WTF?!
Okay, when I blog, I try to always go down the middle, without showing bias or trying to impose. Then something like what happened tonight happens. I knew deep in my heart that the Lakers were not going to beat Boston. I totally knew that going in, and was making peace with it. I was expecting a good game…even though the whole thing is fixed. The Celtics were due for their title and blah blah blah, but what happened tonight was quite simply, one of the worst displays of professional basketball I have ever seen. I don’t want to go into specifics because I have been ranting all night to anyone who would listen. Plus, you probably already know what happened. I am deeply ashamed. I want to…I want to punch a kitten, I’m so angry. Ugh.
It’s done.
As of right now, homosexual citizens of the state of California can marry. It’s a big step forward, but those against the act itself, and more specifically the overturning of the amendment passed by the voters a few years ago courtesy of the California Supreme Court, are not going down without a big over-extended fight. The opposing side, which argues that marriage has been and should continue to be between a man and a woman, are having their voices heard, collecting enough signatures to put the issue on the ballot again this November. Those toward the center of the argument state that the Courts were too hasty in overturning the ban, saying that they could have waited for it to go on the ballot this November. If you read this blog, you should know what my two cents are on the subject. Just one thing to add on my part: if you wake up in the morning, and you notice that the world hasn’t ended, that in fact it’s another beautiful day here in sunny California, ask yourself this: Is it really that big of a deal?
For the love of God…
DO NOT SEE THE HAPPENING!
You will not like this movie!
FIVE REASONS YOU SHOULDN’T SEE IT (without giving anything away)
1. The plot sucks.
2. Worst acting ever by Mark W.
3. M. Night Shyamalan has gone green…not a good thing.
4. Not scary…seriously, which of his movies really are?
5. The director is M. Night Shyamalan.
They did it! (Barely)
The Lakers barely survived game 5 of the NBA Finals yesterday. They beat the Celtics with a tiny 5-point lead, taking the fight for the crown back to Boston. The Lakers could potentially make NBA history by overcoming their 3-1 deficit and defeating Boston. No team in NBA history as done that…yet. The action continues on Tuesday. Can’t wait.
Happy Father’s Day
Altough we don’t have much to celebrate this day, we wish everyone a very happy holiday. We’re looking forward to a nice day off.
A Great Loss
Yesterday afternoon, an incredible figure in broadcast journalism and more specifically, political journalism, passed away suddenly. Tim Russert, long-running host of Meet the Press on NBC, suffered a heart-attack Friday afternoon while recording voiceovers for his Sunday broadcast. Tom Brokaw, retired anchor of NBC’s Nightly News broadcast broke the news that afternoon. He called Russert “one of the premire political journalists and analysts of his time.” Russert was known by everyone by his genuine passion for politics and sports. He is survived by his son, wife, three sisters, and his father. While the political field tries to cope with this news, one can’t help but notice that our Sunday mornings will never be the same again.
